Soil and aspect are the key factors at Jean-Marc Brocard’s estate in and around the small
village of Préhy. The vines are planted on south-facing slopes on Kimmeridgian limestone,
the best quality soil for Chablis. The resulting Chardonnay wines are elegant with the classic
hallmarks of good Chablis; flinty, fresh clean fruit with fine minerality.

that it is owned by an old Champagne family. So, Old World expertise meets with the
freedom & opportunities of the New World. The resultant wine is fresh with aromas

Western Australia is probably producing some of the best from Oz. This wine is a blend
of exotic tropical fruit flavours from the Semillon together with the refreshing vibrancy of
the Sauvignon. One of our favourites at the moment.

Albariño 2007 Rias Baixas Spain £22.45
A wonderfully fragrant wine from north-west Spain using the local Albariño grape variety.
A slight spritz on the tongue characterizes this dry white and ensures its freshness.
On the palate it is very elegant and delicate with hints of peaches, apricots and limes.

The wine is crafted with 100% Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo) grapes from selected 50-60 year old
vines. The tiny yields produce extremely concentrated wines that require careful handling.
With 13 to 16 months ageing in both French and American oak barriques, the wine is bottled
unfiltered and undergoes at least 8 months bottle ageing prior to release.
